Retention of your personal data. We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy. Where we process personal data on behalf of a restaurant (for example, guest profiles and reservation records managed through the restaurant's account), we act as a data processor: retention is determined by the restaurant and the applicable Data Processing Addendum, and such data is deleted following termination of our agreement with the restaurant. For other data, the following criteria apply:
| Category of data | Retention period |
|---|---|
| Guest profile (name, phone, email, preferences) | Until a valid deletion request or account deletion; where the profile is managed on behalf of a restaurant — as instructed by the restaurant |
| Reservation / waitlist records | Retained as long as needed to provide the services; where processed on behalf of a restaurant — as instructed by the restaurant |
| Loyalty notes, tags, visit history | Retained together with the guest profile |
| Marketing communications records | Until consent withdrawal / unsubscribe (opt-out records retained as proof) |
| Restaurant account and billing data | During the term of the agreement plus 7 years (tax and accounting obligations) |
| Support tickets | 12 months after closure |
| System and security logs | 12 months, unless a longer period is required for security or legal purposes |
| Backups | Deleted within 90 days in the ordinary backup cycle after the source data is deleted |
In addition to the retention periods mentioned above, in some circumstances we may store your personal data for longer periods of time, for example (i) where we are required to do so in accordance with legal, regulatory, tax or accounting requirements, or (ii) for us to have an accurate record of your dealings with us in the event of any complaints or challenges, or (iii) if we reasonably believe there is a prospect of litigation relating to your personal data or dealings. After the applicable retention period, personal data is deleted or irreversibly anonymized.
In addition to the recipients described above, we may share your personal data as follows:

You can exercise your rights by submitting a request through our dedicated form at www.hostmeapp.com/privacy-request, or by emailing info@hostmeapp.com. If your request relates to personal data we process on behalf of a restaurant (for example, a booking you made with a restaurant), that restaurant is the data controller of your personal data; we may forward your request to the restaurant or redirect you to it. Where we act as a controller, we respond to requests within the timeframes required by applicable law (under the GDPR, within one month, which may be extended by up to two further months for complex requests). Subject to legal and other permissible considerations, we will make every reasonable effort to honor your request promptly in accordance with applicable law or inform you if we require further information in order to fulfil your request. When processing your request, we may ask you for additional information to confirm or verify your identity and for security purposes, before processing and/or honoring your request. We reserve the right to charge a fee where permitted by law, for instance if your request is manifestly unfounded or excessive. In the event that your request would adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others (for example, would impact the duty of confidentiality we owe to others) or if we are legally entitled to deal with your request in a different way than initially requested, we will address your request to the maximum extent possible, all in accordance with applicable law.
Deleting your account. Should you ever decide to delete your account, you may do so by submitting a request via the form at www.hostmeapp.com/privacy-request. If you terminate your account, any association between your account and personal data we store will no longer be accessible through your account. However, given the nature of sharing on certain services, any public activity on your account prior to deletion will remain stored on our servers and will remain accessible to the public.

If you are under the age of eighteen (18), do not provide any personal data to us without involvement of a parent or a guardian. For the purposes of the GDPR, we do not intend to offer information society services directly to children. In the event that we become aware that you provide personal data in violation of applicable privacy laws, we reserve the right to delete it.

The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, type of browser, Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, clicked pages and any other information your browser may send to us. We use such information for security purposes and to analyze trends, administer the Website, track users' movement around the Website, and gather demographic information.
We currently use marketing and sales analytics tools including: Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Firebase, Salesforce and Facebook. We reserve the right to remove or add new analytic tools. An up-to-date list of the subprocessors that process service data on our behalf is available at www.hostmeapp.com/rules/subprocessors.

Some features of the Services personalize content based on data we hold (for example, personalized restaurant recommendations based on booking history and preferences). This profiling is used to improve the relevance of recommendations and marketing content and does not produce legal or similarly significant effects concerning you.
Where required by law, you have the right to object to profiling at any time (see Section 5 of this Privacy Policy).
